Elias, Web Application Engineer

Elias Yousef is a Web Applications Software Engineer and a native of Syria. He started coding at the age of 11. He is passionate about different technologies and how the internet works, which is the reason behind choosing to take up telecommunications in his undergraduate studies, as to complement and enrich his coding interests. He attended the University of Aleppo where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electric and Electronic Engineering, with a concentration in Telecommunications.

In 2013, he moved to Chicago for graduate school. He attended Illinois Institute of Technology, where he got his Master’s degree in Information Technology and Management. He graduated in 2014 with a 4.00 GPA. At his time there, he was a Teaching Assistant (TA); he was also a research assistant in the Real Time Communications Laboratory working with Professor Carol Davids. His research was focused on webRTC technology and testing the performance of webRTC apps in enterprise environments.

After graduating in 2014, he worked as a software Engineer Consultant in Manhattan, where his focus was on enterprise web applications. He was assigned two different projects with Fidelity Investments (from January 2015 until August 2015). As of now, he has joined Weight Watchers as a full time Web Software Engineer.
